Course Overview

This intensive five-day bootcamp is designed to provide participants with a complete foundation in financial modeling and valuation. Covering the core technical skills demanded in investment banking, private equity, and corporate finance, the program emphasizes hands-on Excel model building reinforced with real-world applications.

Across five structured days, participants will progress from fundamental three-statement modeling through advanced valuation, leveraged buyouts, mergers & acquisitions, and pro forma capital structures. By the end of the program, participants will have developed the technical expertise and practical frameworks needed to analyze deals and present conclusions with confidence.

Key Disciplines Covered

Day 1: Three-Statement Modeling

  • Build a fully integrated model linking the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
  • Learn best practices in Excel setup, formatting, and error-checking.
  • Understand how financial statements interact and translate into actionable insights.

Day 2: Valuation Modeling

  • Apply DCF, comparables, and precedent transactions to real company data.
  • Forecast free cash flows, calculate WACC, and triangulate valuation ranges.
  • Build valuation outputs and practice presenting findings in a professional format.

Day 3: LBO Modeling

  • Construct leveraged buyout models step by step in Excel.
  • Model debt schedules, repayment mechanics, and investor returns (IRR/MOIC).
  • Evaluate sensitivities to entry multiples, leverage levels, and exit assumptions.

Day 4: M&A Modeling

  • Build merger models to evaluate accretion/dilution and synergies.
  • Incorporate purchase accounting adjustments and pro forma financials.
  • Analyze transaction structures and prepare outputs for investment committees.

Day 5: Pro Forma Capital Structures Modeling

  • Construct models to analyze ownership, leverage, and financing alternatives.
  • Evaluate credit metrics, interest coverage, and pro forma capital structure trade-offs.
  • Assess the impact of financing decisions on returns and investor outcomes.
