Course agenda

Follow the path from shareholder value and project selection to financing choices, cost of capital, and risk assessment.

We begin by connecting firm investments, funding sources, return on invested capital, and the weighted average cost of capital.

We compare the strengths and limitations of common investment frameworks and apply them to value-creative and value-destructive decisions.

We relate target cash flows, purchase price, control premiums, and synergies to the economics of an acquisition.

We examine internal and external funding sources, the claims and tradeoffs of debt and equity, and the role of capital structure.

We connect debt and equity costs in WACC and use cash flow, coverage, leverage, and liquidity measures to evaluate financial capacity.
